After you have completed the Savi application and have chosen an IDR to enter, you will just need to complete a few more simple steps for us to submit your application for you.
-
Upload your income documentation
- You will be asked to upload documentation which verifies your AGI. Depending on your situation this can be your 1040, 140 EZ, W2s, Paystubs (with a note on the paystub of how often you are paid), or Tax Return Transcript. If you do not currently have income, you do not need to include any documentation.
- If you do not see the documentation you want to use from the list provided, you can choose one of the options above. Other forms of documentation not listed might cause your application to be rejected. You can see eligible document types here: https://bysavi.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/24850054983443-What-type-of-income-documentation-should-I-use-on-my-Income-Driven-Repayment-Application
- If you run into any issues uploading your forms see this help center article: https://bysavi.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/34844957259923-Issues-Uploading-Income-Documentation
- If you continue having issues, please reach out to the customer support team on your Savi dashboard and they would be happy to help
-
Add your Social Security Number
- This is required for your IDR application and will be used on the form only
- If your spouse also has student loans, you will need to add your spouse's SSN as well. This is required but does not mean that your spouse is in any way legally tied to your federal student loans.
-
Add your signature
- The last step is to draw your signature. This is how your signature will appear on your IDR application
- There will be a checkbox auto checked requesting to remain in a forbearance or deferment. If you want to enter repayment immediately or are already in repayment, please uncheck this box.
-
Submit IDR Application
- You can preview your application before submitting. You will also receive an email copy of the application after submitting
