You’re being prompted to connect a MOHELA account because we recently submitted an Employment Certification Form for you to MOHELA. When you begin the process of working towards Public Service Loan Forgiveness, your loans will automatically be moved to MOHELA Servicing (if they’re not there already). For Public Service Loan Forgiveness, MOHELA is the only loan provider who handles the paperwork and the entire program.
Please keep in mind that MOHELA is the only provider who will be able to provide an accurate count of qualifying payments. Since you don’t yet have a MOHELA account, you will receive either an email or physical letter from them with instructions on how to create an account once your loans successfully transfer and they process your PSLF form. Often this can take 8-12 weeks to complete. Once you have a MOHELA account, you can then sync it on your dashboard.
