As you move through the Savi tool, you'll be prompted to enter information about your current loan servicer. A loan servicer is a company that the Department of Education assigns to you to handle the billing and repayment options for your federal student loans. This servicer is assigned as soon as your loan is disbursed, and they will contact you thereafter.

If you are unsure who your servicer is, you can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at 1-800-433-3243. You may also visit your Federal Student Aid account dashboard and select “View loan servicer details" from the "My Aid" section.
If you believe your loans are currently in default or cannot find your loan servicer, you can call the Department of Education Loan Locator at 1-800-621-3115. They will help you determine which agency your loans have been assigned to.
