There are several ways to sync your loans to Savi if you have not already.
Below are steps to sync your loans. If you have already synced your loans this year, you can follow the steps at the bottom to update your loan information with Savi.
Sync via NSLDS File Upload
Simply download this file from your Federal Student Aid website account (Instructions below). Once downloaded, return to the Loan Sync section of Savi, click "Upload Student Loan Data" - select the .TXT file you just downloaded and upload it to Savi
(NSLDS) Student Loan Data File Instructions (please note this can only be downloaded using a desktop or laptop computer)
1. Log into your account at studentaid.gov. After you confirm your information, you will see your Dashboard.
2. On your dashboard, you will see a section on the right called "My Info". Below that you will see "My Aid" and you can click on that.
3. On the top right hand side, select "Download My Aid Data".
4. Select "Continue" to download your Student Loan Data to your computer
5. This file will download as a TXT file named: MyStudentData.txt
6. Upload the file in the loan sync section of the Savi application by clicking "Upload Student Loan Data File" and then uploading the TXT file.
Sync Automatically via Spinwheel
- Click the "Sync Loans" button, and then choose the Phone Number option
- Enter your phone number and DOB
- You will then receive a text message to authenticate Spinwheel
- Your loans will then be synced to your Savi account
Sync Manually
It helps to have disbursement date, loan type, balance, and interest rate information handy for this option. In the Loan Sync section of Savi, click “Add Loans Manually” - enter your loan information, and click “Add to Profile”.
If you have already completed your 2025 General Application with Savi, you can still ensure you have your most recent loan information on file.
1. Log into your account at studentaid.gov. After you confirm your information, you will see your Dashboard.
